SUBJECT: Indian Creek Drive Flooding Mitigation Project Update -Upcoming Closure and Traffic
Impacts
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (L TC) is to provide an update on upcoming traffic impacts
associated with the Indian Creek Drive Flooding Mitigation Project.
In an effort to complete the installation of the pump station, southbound Indian Creek Drive will be
closed at 32 Street. Southbound traffic will be detoured at 33 Street to travel south on Collins Avenue
until 31 Street and routed back to Indian Creek Drive. Left turn movements will be restricted on Collins
Avenue in this area due to space restrictions. North of 33 Street, Collins Avenue will continue to be
northbound traffic only. Through traffic is encouraged to use an alternate route.
Flaggers will be on site to help direct traffic during specific operations. In addition, off-duty police
officers will also be used as needed to enhance safety for pedestrians and vehicles. Local access to the
buildings between 31 Street and 33 Street will be maintained. Traffic impacts will be continually
monitored, and tweaks may be implemented to the maintenance of traffic as needed.
This work is scheduled to take only two (2) days, beginning on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. This
closure and work is critical to have the drainage system and pump station in place for the Spring Tides.
The Public Information Officer for the project, Heather M. Leslie of HML Public Outreach, is maintaining
regular communication with area residents and businesses and is releasing weekly advisories for the
project to notify them of project updates and upcoming construction. The Communications Office will
also be distributing information regarding this closure and detour.

Southbound Indian Creek Drive Closure
At 32 Street Starts Monday Night,
February 26, 201 8
Work Zone and Tasks
Beginning Monday night, February 26 through
the end of Wednesday, February 28,
southbound Indian Creek Drive will be
continuously closed at 32 Street while the
contractor uses a crane to continue pump station
work.
What to Expect
Southbound Indian Creek Drive will be closed at
32 Street. A detour will be established to guide
drivers around the work.
Drivers traveling south on Indian Creek Drive will
have to:
• Turn east on 33 Street
• Turn south on Collins Avenue
• Turn west on 31 Street
• Continue south on Indian Creek Drive
Collins Avenue will remain northbound only north
of 33 Street and south of 32 Street.
Off-duty police officers and flaggers will be
used as needed during this work.
Please do not park within the work zones along
Indian Creek Drive. Citations and towing will be
enforced for unauthorized vehicles parked in
these areas.
Please note this schedule may change due to
weather or unforeseen circumstances.
