A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT OF LITIGATION
WITH HENRY EDGAR AND MARILYNNE SULLIVAN, FORMERLY
EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY 'S LEGAL DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, there is litigation pending between the City
of Miami Beach and Henry Edgar and Marilynne Sullivan, formerly
employees of the City' s Legal Department, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has recommended to the City
Council the acceptance of an offer of settlement of said litiga-
tion on the basis that said employees would be permitted to file
their resignations from the employ of the City and upon the further
consideration of $4, 000 to Henry Edgar and $1, 500 to Marilynne
Sullivan in full and complete release and settlement of all claims
against the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has advised the City Council
that the acceptance of said offers of settlement are in the best
interests of the City of Miami Beach,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Attorney be
and he is hereby duly authorized to take all necessary steps to
accept said offer of compromise on the basis of the foregoing,
and the proper officers of the City be and they are duly authorized
to accept and carry out the terms and conditions of this resolution .
