RESOLUTION DECLARING ACQUISITION OF A CERTAIN
TRACT LOCATED IN MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR
COMPLETION OF CIVIC-CONVENTION CENTER COMPLEX
AND NEW CITY HALL SITE TO BE A PUBLIC
NECESSITY, AND AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION
WHEREAS , the City Manager and the City Real Estate
Consultant, S . Z . Bennett, have recommended the acquisition of
a certain tract of real property within the City of Miami Beach,
hereinafter described, in fee simple, for completion of a
Civic-Convention Center Complex and new City Hall, to wit:
Lots 1 and 2 in Block 7 and portion of
the Bridle Path East of same, GOLF COURSE
SUBDIVISION, as recorded in Plat Book 6,
Page 26 , of the Public Records of Dade
County, Florida.
AND , WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach finds and declares that the acquisition of the specific
property hereinabove described is necessary, practical and to
the best interest of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, for said
public purposes and uses;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Attorney and
the City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to proceed
and to take all necessary steps for the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, to acquire in the name of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, by donation, purchase, or eminent domain proceedings,
the said lands in fee simple and to prepare in the name of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, all papers, pleadings and other
instruments required for that purpose , and to prosecute all
eminent domain proceedings to judgment.
