Resolution 73-14181 RESOLUTION NO. 73-14181
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined to construct a parking garage at a construction
cost not to exceed $4, 175, 000 .00, with a minimum capacity of
1500 passenger vehicles or more within the site of an existing
parking area located at 17th Street and bounded on the east by
Pennsylvania. Avenue, on the south by an alley immediately north
of Lincoln Road Mall and known as North Lincoln Lane, on the
west by Meridian Court and on the north by 17th Street in Miami
Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to employ an engineer in
connection with the construction and design of said parking
garage ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
Miami Beach and its inhabitants to employ the firm of BLISS &
NYITRAY, INC . , as Engineers, for a fee of $225 , 000 .00 for basic
services as described in the proposed agreement, and for addi-
tional services of Principals as required, by mutual consent,
at a rate of $40 per hour; and
WHEREAS , an agreement has been prepared between the
City of Miami Beach and BLISS & NYITRAY, INC . , with compensation
as stated above; and
WHEREAS , the City Attorney has approved the agreement
as to form, and the City Manager has recommended that the City
Council enter into the same ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
is familiar with the provisions of said agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be, and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
the said agreement in the name of and on behalf of the said City,
and the disbursing officers of the City are hereby authorized and.
directed to disburse the monies required by the terms of said
agreement from funds of the City available for such purpose.
