RESOLUTION NO. 73-14186
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, deems it to be necessary for the welfare
of said City and the inhabitants thereof to acquire for
the purpose of completing the Civic-Convention Center Complex
land plan, the following described parcel of land situate,
lying and being in the City of Miami Beach, Dade County,
Florida, to wit :
Lots 1 and 2, and that portion of bridle path
east of Lots 1 and 2, Block 7, AMENDED PLAT
GOLF COURSE SUBDIVISION, recorded in Plat
Book 6, at page 26, according to the Public
Records of Dade County, Florida,
together with the personal property and fixtures situate
therein, said property being also known as 1809 Meridian
Avenue, Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, Mr. S. Z. Bennett, the City' s Real Estate
Consultant has negotiated with the owner of the hereinabove
described property for the purchase of said property by the
City from the owner and his negotiations have culminated in
a proposed contract wherein and whereby the owner of said
property agrees to sell and the City agrees to buy the said
parcel of land, personal property and fixtures situate there-
in and thereon at the purchase price of One Million Two Hundred
and Thirty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1, 233, 500. 00) ,
to be paid as follows : $1, 223, 500. 00 to the Seller, and $10, 000. 00
to the Attorneys for Seller, the proposed transaction to be closed
on December 20, 1973, but the owner to be entitled to possession
of the said property until June 30, 1974, and
WHEREAS, said proposed agreement contains and sets forth
other terms and conditions with which the City Council is familiar,
and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and said City' s Real Estate
Consultant have recommended the approval and execution of said
proposed agreement, and the City Attorney has approved the same
as to form and legality, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best
interests of the City of Miami Beach and its inhabitants that said
contract be agreed to; entered into; and executed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby accepts and
approves the recommendation of the City Manager and the said S. Z.
Bennett and agrees to purchase the same for the said sum of One
Million Two Hundred and Thirty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
($1, 233, 500. 00) , subject to a suitable and appropriate agreement
for such purpose to be entered into by the parties and to be
approved by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the proper financial officers be and
they are hereby authorized to make the disbursements called for
by said contract.
