Resolution 73-14203 T RESOLUTION NO. 73-14203 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE OF FLORIDA TO ACQUIRE FISHER ISLAND FOR PUBLIC PARK PURPOSES . WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Dade County Commission is considering the adoption of a resolution requesting the State of Florida to acquire Fisher Island for public park purposes, and WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, joins with the Metropolitan Dade County Commission in the belief that it is of paramount public importance that said Fisher Island should be so acquired by the State of Florida for said purposes, and WHEREAS, such acquisition by the State of Florida is vital and of transcendent importance to the general welfare of the City of Miami Beach, its citizens and residents, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Council of the City of Miami Beach urges the State of Florida to initiate steps promptly and forthwith for the acquisition of said Fisher Island for said public park purposes and that the same be accomplished at the earliest possible time, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that copies of this resolution be trans- mitted to the Governor of the State of Florida, the Honorable Reubin O 'D. Askew, each member of the State Cabinet, and the Director of the Department of Natural Resources of the State of Florida.
