Resolution 73-14207 RESOLUTION NO. 73-14207
WHEREAS , the Board of Trustees of the Miami Beach
Employees ' Retirement System has heretofore considered,
approved and recommended that the City ' s group health insurance
contract be renewed with the Florida Combined Insurance Agency
on behalf of the Blue Cross--Blue Shield Plan and American
Bankers Life Assurance Company, for a period of three years
commencing January 1, 1974 ; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Trustees of the Employees '
Retirement System has now recommended that the major medical
coverage be increased to $100 , 000 (maximum lifetime per person)
and be included as part of the group insurance contract
effective January 1 , 1974 , and that the contract with Florida
Combined Insurance Company be so amended; and
WHEREAS , it is considered to be in the best interests
of the City to renew said contract for said period upon the
said terms and conditions ;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that it hereby
approves the recommendation of said Board of Trustees and
hereby authorizes the execution of such document as may be
required to provide for increased major medical coverage as a
part of the group insurance contract effective January 1 , 1974 .
PASSED and ADOPTED this 12th day of December, 1973 .
