RESOLUTION NO. 74-14268
A RESOLUTION URGING FEDERAL AND STATE
AUTHORITIES TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION
TO INCREASE ALLOTMENTS OF GASOLINE TO
MIAMI BEACH AND DADE COUNTY.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach, and Dade County,
are dependent, to a vital degree, upon tourism and the tourist
industry, for economic survival, and
WHEREAS, existing allotments of gasoline to said
area are, and apparently have been made, without sufficient
regard and consideration to such vital economic needs, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems it imperative for the economical welfare of
this area, that such allotments of gasoline be increased in
order to enable this area to meet its economic needs .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Federal
li Energy Office, and all state and county officials entrusted
with the duty and responsibility of making allotments of
gasoline and fuel to this area, be and they are hereby strongly
and earnestly urged to substantially increase the same for the
tourist areas of Dade County, Florida, including the City of
Miami Beach, in order to prevent the occurrence and continuance
of grave and profound adverse effects of the economy of this
area.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of February, 1974 .
