RESOLUTION NO. 74-14288
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN DADE COUNTY
RELATING TO THE ENTERING INTO OF
CONTRACTS AND PROCUREMENT OF GRANTS FOR
UNEMPLOYMENT AND UNDEREMPLOYMENT PROJECTS
PURSUANT TO FEDERAL AND STATE LEGISLATION
WHEREAS , pursuant to the provisions of the Federal
Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of 1973, and the
Florida Interlocal Cooperation Act of 1969 , Section 163 . 01,
Florida Statutes , the City of Miami Beach is authorized and
empowered to enter into an agreement with Metropolitan
Dade County whereby the latter will serve as the duly
authorized agent for the City of Miami Beach and other
participating municipalities in Dade County to enter into
agreements with agencies of the United States of America and
H agencies of the State of Florida for the institution of
programs , and the receipt of financial grants looking to the
alleviation of conditions of unemployment and underemployment
in the municipalities within Dade County, and
WHEREAS , an appropriate agreement has been prepared
to accomplish the foregoing, the terms and provisions of
which agreement are familiar to the City Council, and
WHEREAS , the City Council deems it to be in the
best interest of the City of Miami Beach, and its residents ,
that said Agreement be entered into.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor
and the City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and
directed to execute and deliver said Agreement for and on
behalf of the City of Miami Beach.
