A RESOLUTION REQUESTING TAX EXEMPTION ON
A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND ACQUIRED JOINTLY
BY THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND METROPOLITAN
DADE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
on July 18 , 1973, duly passed and adopted its Resolution No.
73-14058 , authorizing the purchase of the following described
parcel of land jointly by the City of Miami Beach and Metro-
politan Dade County, in accordance with its Resolution No.
R-1025-73, passed and adopted by the County Commission on
September 4 , 1973 , to wit:
Lot "B" as shown on the Amended Plat of
the Indian Beach Corporation' s subdivision,
recorded in Plat Book 8 , at page 61 , of the
public records of Dade County, Florida,
for public park purposes ; and
WHEREAS , title was conveyed to the City of Miami Beach
on October 17 , 1973 , and the Warranty Deed was duly recorded in
the Public Records of Dade County, Florida, on October 23 , 1973,
in Official Record Book 8481, at page 1664 ; and
WHEREAS , said real estate is , under applicable law,
exempt from further taxation as of the date of acquisition of
title by the City of Miami Beach, to wit:
October 17 , 1973
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Metropolitan Dade
County Commission, its County Manager, its Tax Assessor, and its
Tax Collector, be and they are hereby respectfully requested to
cancel the balance of the taxes due for 1973 as of October 17,
1973; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that a certified copy of this resolution
be transmitted to the Metropolitan Dade County Commission, its
County Manager, its Tax Assessor, and its Tax Collector.
