A RESOLUTION APPROVING VERDICT OF
COMPENSATION FOR ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY
COMMONLY KNOWN AS "WEBSTER PROPERTY" .
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, heretofore authorized institution of condemnation pro-
ceedings for the acquisition of the fee simple title to the
following parcel of land, to wit:
Lots 40 and 41 , Block 111, OCEAN BEACH
ADDITION NO. 3 , as recorded in Plat
Book 2 , at page 81 , of the Public
Records of Dade County, Florida,
commonly known as the "Webster Property" and located at 380
Alton Road, Miami Beach, Dade County, Florida, for use for
marina, public park, recreational and other public purposes , and
WHEREAS , pursuant to Resolution No. 73-13961, appro-
priate condemnation proceedings were instituted in the Dade
County Circuit Court for said purpose , and
WHEREAS , subsequent to the impanelling of a jury, a
verdict was reached by the said jury for compensation to be made
by the City of Miami Beach for the taking of the fee simple
title to the parcel hereinabove described, as follows :
The sum of Three Hundred Seventy-Five
Thousand Dollars ($375 , 000 . 00) payable
to Thelma P . Webster; and
WHEREAS , the City Attorney, the City Manager, and Mr.
S . Z . Bennett, the City 's Real Estate Consultant, have each
recommended to the City Council that the acceptance of said
verdict of compensation is financially advantageous to the City
and in its best interests , and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has duly considered said verdict of compensation and
said recommendation, and now being fully advised in the premises ,
it is , therefore,
RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that the said verdict of compensation, as here-
inabove recommended, be and the same is hereby accepted and the
City Attorney be and he is hereby authorized and directed to take
all legal steps necessary to effectuate and execute said verdict
of compensation and the proper financial officers of the City
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to make all payments
required by law hereby and hereunder.
