A RESOLUTION REQUESTING METROPOLITAN DADE
COUNTY TO ASSUME AND MAINTAIN OPERATION
AND EXPENSE OF ALCOHOLIC REHABILITATION
PROGRAM OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, AND TO
PROVIDE FOR SAME IN 1974-1975 METROPOLITAN
DADE COUNTY BUDGET, AND REQUESTING THAT
EXISTING ALCOHOLIC REHABILITATION PROGRAM
PERSONNEL BE RETAINED AS METROPOLITAN
DADE COUNTY EMPLOYEES .
WHEREAS, City of Miami Beach, pursuant to the provisions
of Section 394. 3, Florida Statutes, entered into an agreement with
the Dade County Mental Health Board, Inc, , whereby the City of
Miami Beach maintained an Alcoholic Rehabilitation Program, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City
Council of the City of Miami Beach that said Alcoholic Rehab-
ilitation Program be transferred to Dade County commencing with
the fiscal year October 1, 1974-1975, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
deems it to be in the best interests of the City and its residents
that said recommendation of the City Manager be approved and
accepted,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City of Miami Beach
Alcoholic Rehabilitation Program, together with all the duties and
responsibilities appertaining thereto, be and the same is hereby
transferred to Metropolitan Dade County for operation thereof and
thereunder, commencing with the fiscal year October 1, 1974-1975,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH. FLORIDA, that Metropolitan Dade County accept
and continue the employment of all personnel employed by the City
of Miami Beach in the operation of said Program, without diminution
or impairment of any of the benefits accruing to such City employees,
insofar as the same is feasible or practical.
