It has come to our attention that you did not register as a lobbyist with the City Clerk's
Office prior to lobbying the City of Miami Beach Planning Department Director, Jorge
Gomez, on May 20,2002 at 10:00 a.m.
Pursuant to Sec. 2-485 (b) "Each lobbyist and his/her principal shall, before engaging in
any lobbying activities, submit to the City Clerk a joint signed statement under oath
disclosing the terms and amount of compensation (to be) paid by each principal to the
lobbyist with regard to the specific issue on which the lobbyist has been engaged to lobby."
In order to comply with the requirements above, please submit the revised lobbyist

Dear Robert:
Attached please find a "new registration" form for my client, Arden-Savoy
L,L.C. My client's principal was in town yesterday and Iwas able to have
him sign the completed form.
As we have discussed, I believe there is some confusion about the new
ordinance. As you are aware, I am not an attorney, but in discussing this
issue with some, tp.ere are differences of opinion on their interpretation. As a
side note, as of today the final Lobbyist Ordinance has not been posted on the
City's web site, nor have I been able to find it in the Code section ofthe site.
The one question that "is most confusing is weather or not "Lobbyist" by
definition must reregister for clients that they had registered for, prior to the
effective date of the new Ordinance?
I am submitting the new form, however, believing it is not necessary, due to
the fact I registered on March 22, for this client (attached).
Would you please route this to the appropriate officials to detennine the
intent and interpretation of the Ordinance?
