RESOLUTION NO. 74-14407
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF MIAMI BEACH AND
HERBERT S . SAFFIR CONSULTING ENGINEERS TO •
PREPARE DESIGN PLANS, TECHNICAL SPECIFICA-
TIONS , REVIEW AND APPROVE SHOP DRAWINGS
AND PROVIDE SUPERVISION DURING CONSTRUCTION
OF NEW BRIDGE STRUCTURE TO CROSS COLLINS
CANAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF PRAIRIE AVENUE
AND DADE BOULEVARD.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach is desirous of
constructing a new bridge structure, approximately fifty (50)
feet long, crossing the Collins Canal at the intersection of
Prairie Avenue and Dade Boulevard, and connecting to the
Convention Center site, in the City of Miami Beach, Florida,
and
WHEREAS , in order for the City to construct and place
into operation such a bridge structure, they desire to employ the
services of a consulting engineering firm to prepare the necessary
design plans and technical specifications ; review and approve
shop drawings , and provide supervision during construction, and
WHEREAS , an appropriate agreement with Herbert S . Saffir
Consulting Engineer has been prepared and has been approved as
to form by the City Attorney, providing for said engineering
services , for a total fee of Twenty-Four Thousand Seven Hundred
Fifty and No/100 Dollars ($24 , 750 . 00) , the terms and conditions
of which are set forth in said agreement, a copy of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof, and

WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City
Council that said Agreement be entered into, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
deems it to be in the best interest of the City and its residents
to enter into said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
and deliver the said Agreement for and in the name of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida; and that the financial officers of the City
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to make the
disbursements called for in accordance with the provisions of
said Agreement.
