RESOLUTION NO. 74-14409
A RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION AND APPRECIATION
FOR THE DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE OF JESSE
WEISS , AS MEMBER AND CHAIRMAN OF THE MIAMI
BEACH TOURIST DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach Tourist Development
Authority was created by the City Council of the City of Miami
Beach in June, 1967, and
WHEREAS , Jesse Weiss was duly appointed by said City
Council as one of the first and original members of said
Authority, and has served as such member continuously thereafter
to the present time, and has been honored by his co-members by
election to the offices of Vice-Chairman and Chairman, respec-
tively, and is presently serving as Chairman thereof, and
WHEREAS , the said Jesse Weiss has , and is performing
his duties as Chairman and member of said Authority with consummate
skill, and unequalled distinction and brillance and this community
is and will continue to be the grateful and appreciative
beneficiary of his indefatigable, self-sacrificial devotion, and
WHEREAS, his profound knowledge of the duties, respon-
sibilities and problems of the Tourist Development Authority; his
keen, incisive and penetrating mind; and his unsurpassed courage
have been of incalculable benefit to this City and its citizens,
and
WHEREAS , among his countless outstanding achievements
has been his ardent advocacy of all measures designed to aid the
City in the funding of the wrap-around addition to the Convention
Hall, and his commitment to the task of maintaining a cordial
and harmonious relationship between the City Council and the
Authority, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Miami Beach and this
community desire to pay tribute to this outstanding and true
public servant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, for itself and this community,
does hereby express its profound appreciation to the said
Jesse Weiss as Member and Chairman of the Miami Beach Tourist
Development Authority for his decisive and courageous leadership
and its sense of profound obligation to the said Jesse Weiss for
his unparalleled record of loyal commitment to the civic progress
of our community.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of June , 1974 .
