A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND CITY CLERK
TO EXECUTE AN EXTENSION AGREEMENT WITH DISTRICT
NO. 22, DADE COUNTY MENTAL HEALTH BOARD, INC. ,
PROVIDING FOR JOINT PARTICIPATION IN THE MIAMI
BEACH COURT ALCOHOLIC PROGRAM THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30,
1974.
WHEREAS, Chapter 394. 3 Florida Statutes, authorizes and per-
mits municipalities to enter into agreements providing for joint
participation with Dade County Mental Health Boards for the pro-
curement and disbursement of State Mental Health funds, all as
set forth in the Myers Act Implementation Plan, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach entered into a contract
on March 6, 1974, with District Number 22, Dade County Mental
Health Board, Inc. for the period July 1, 1973, through June 30,
1974, and
WHEREAS, said Dade County Mental Health Board pursuant to
advice and recommendation of the State, has requested the City to
extend the existing agreement to September 30, 1974, and
WHEREAS, by extending such contract, the City will receive
the sum of $3, 225.00, as reimbursement for its cost of maintaining
such service,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of said
City deems it to be in the best interest of said City, that such
extension agreement be entered into, the terms and provisions of
which agreement are familiar to the City Council, and the Mayor
and City Clerk be authorized and directed to execute and deliver
said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Miami Beach.
