A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING PLAN FOR
WIDENING OF COLLINS AVENUE BETWEEN 60TH AND
73RD STREETS , AS PRESENTED BY STATE DEPARTMENT
OF TRANSPORTATION, AS MODIFIED IN ACCORDANCE
WITH DETERMINATIONS MADE AT PREVIOUS PUBLIC
HEARINGS .
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, passed and adopted its Resolution No. 74-14341 , on
April 17 , 1974 , approving preliminary plans in principle in
accordance with a proposed Master Plan for the widening of Collins
Avenue between 60th and 73rd Streets , and
WHEREAS , pursuant to said Resolution No. 74-14341 , a
public hearing was called, and held, on May 15, 1974, to discuss
said preliminary plans as approved in principle, and
WHEREAS , following said public hearing, and continuances
thereof, special consultants of the State Department of Transporta-
tion, to-wit, Bristol, Childs , Crowder & Associates , Inc. ,
represented by Darrell E. McQueen, submitted to the City Council
their written recommendations , by way of their letter addressed to
the Mayor and the Members of the City Council , dated August 7,
1974 , to which communication reference is hereby made, and the
contents thereof adopted herein by reference, again recommended
that the proposed Master Plan for widening of Collins Avenue,
between 60th and 73rd Streets , as presented to the City Council,
and as modified in accordance with discussions at the previous
public hearings be adopted and that necessary action be taken to
insure completion of construction in the near future, and
WHEREAS , following consideration of said recommendation
by Bristol , Childs , Crowder & Associates , Inc. , the State Depart-
ment of Transportation was duly considered by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the recommendations of
the State Department of Transportation, speaking through its
representative and consultants , Bristol , Childs , Crowder &
Associates , Inc. , that the proposed Master Plan for the Widening
of Collins Avenue, between 60th and 73rd Streets , as presented to
the City Council, and as modified in accordance with discussions
at public hearings duly held, be and the same is hereby adopted
and that all necessary action be taken to insure completion of
construction in accordance with said recommendations as speedily
as possible.
