A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF
AGREEMENT WITH FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
UNIVERSITY ESTABLISHING A STUDENT
INTERN PROGRAM BETWEEN THE MIAMI BEACH
POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FLORIDA INTER-
NATIONAL UNIVERSITY.
WHEREAS , the City of Miami Beach Police Department
desires to participate with Florida International University in
the establishment of a Student Intern Program, and
WHEREAS , the program, under the designation of Florida
International University - Miami Beach Police Department Student
Intern Program, will be of substantial benefit to the Miami Beach
Police Department as well as the students involved, and
WHEREAS , an appropriate agreement with Florida Inter-
national University has been prepared and has been approved as to
form by the City Attorney, providing for said program, the terms
and conditions of which are set forth in the said agreement, a
copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and
WHEREAS , the City Manager has recommended to the City
Council that said Agreement be entered into, and
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Miami Beach
deems it to be in the best interest of the City and its residents
to enter into said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City
Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute
and deliver the said Agreement for and in the name of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida.
