A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CALLING A
SPECIAL ELECTION AT WHICH THERE SHALL BE
SUBMITTED TO THE VOTE OF THE ELECTORATE
THE MATTER OF ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID
CITY IN THE SUM AND FOR THE PURPOSE IN
THIS RESOLUTION STATED.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, deems it advisable to issue bonds of said City in the
amount and for the municipal purpose set forth in the election
notice provided for in Section 6 of the following resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA :
SECTION 1. That, subject to the authorization and approval of
the duly registered and qualified voters of said
City participating in the election according to law, which is
hereinafter called, negotiable coupon bonds of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, shall be issued in the sum and for the purpose
stated in the Notice of Election provided in Section 6 of this
resolution.
SECTION 2 . That a special election is hereby called and directed
to be held in the City of Miami Beach, Florida, from
7 :00 A.M. until 7 :00 P.M. on the 5th day of November, 1974, for
the purpose of submitting to a vote of the duly registered and
qualified voters of said City the question whether bonds of said
City shall be issued in the sum and for the purpose stated in the
Notice of Election provided for in Section 6 of this resolution.
SECTION 3 . That the appropriate and proper Dade County election
officials shall conduct the said special election
hereby called, except for the final tabulation and certification
of the results of said special election. The official return sheets
from each precinct shall be furnished to the City Clerk of the
City of Miami Beach as soon as the polls are closed after said
special election. The official canvassing of the results of said
special election shall be made by the City Council of the City of
Miami Beach.
SECTION 4. That the said voting precincts in the City shall be
as established by the proper and appropriate Dade
County election officials . All electors shall vote at the polling
places in the voting precincts in which the official registration
books show that the said electors reside.
SECTION 5 . That thirty days ' notice of said election shall be
given by publication in the Miami Beach Sun Reporter
and Miami Beach Times, being newspapers published in the City of
Miami Beach, Florida. Such publication shall be made at least
once each week for four consecutive weeks during said period of
thirty days.

SECTION 6. That the Notice of Election shall be substantially
in the following form:
"CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
"NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election has been
called by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, and will be held in said City from 7 :00
o' clock A.M. until 7 :00 o' clock P.M. on the 5th day
of November, 1974, at which there shall be submitted
to the duly registered and qualified voters of said
City the following question :
"QUESTION
"Shall the City of Miami Beach issue negotiable coupon
bonds in the amount of $300, 000 with interest at a rate
to be hereafter determined, but not to exceed 7-1/2 per
cent per annum, for the purpose of constructing the
City' s Bike Path System, in conjunction with the Dade
County "Bikeways Plan"?
"For the purpose of holding and conducting said election,
the City of Miami Beach has been divided into voting
precincts or election districts with polling places
therein as follows :

PRECINCT NO. 413 : Biscayne Elementary School, 800 - 77th Street.

"The voting shall be on mechanical voting machines, unless
otherwise provided by law.
SECTION 7. That the voting shall be on mechanical voting
machines, unless otherwise provided by law. The
form of ballot to be used in said election shall be in sub-
stantially the following form:

SECTION 8. That a special annual tax upon all taxable property
within the City of Miami Beach, over and above all
other taxes authorized or limited by law, or by the Charter of
the City, sufficient to pay the interest and the principal of
the bonds hereby authorized, at their several dates of maturity,
and any balance collected at any time from such special annual
tax after the payment of principal and interest upon the bonds
hereby authorized shall be deposited in the local improvement
bond fund.
SECTION 9. That the proceeds of the special annual tax hereby
provided for shall be used for no other purpose
than the payment of principal and interest of the bonds hereby
authorized, at their several dates of maturity, and any balance
collected at any time from such special annual tax after the
payment of principal and interest upon the bonds hereby auth-
orized shall be deposited in the local improvement bond fund.
SECTION 10. That the City of Miami Beach shall pay all expenses
for conducting this special election.

upon its passage.
