Resolution 81-16743 1 RESOLUTION NO. 81-16743 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS ASSOCIATION MERCHANDISE SHOW EXHIBITORS TO USE THE BAYSHORE AND NORMANDY GOLF COURSES ON JANUARY 6, 1982; THEREBY, CLOSING THE COURSES TO THE PUBLIC FOR ONE (1) DAY. WHEREAS, the City Commission has adopted Resolution 81-16642, approving a contract with the Professional Golfers Association of America to hold a Merchandise Show in the Convention Center from January 7 through January 10, 1982, and WHEREAS, the Professional Golfers Association has requested the privilege of using the Bayshore and Normandy Golf Courses for a Shotgun Tournament for the Professional Golfers Association Merchandise Show Exhibitors on January 6, 1982, and WHEREAS, the Professional Golfers Association has agreed to pay the green fee charges for the tournament. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Bayshore and Normandy Golf Courses shall be closed to the public on January 6, 1982 in order to permit the Professional Golfers Association of America to use said courses for a tournament. A Shotgun Tournament is planned and the Professional Golfers Association ,- will pay the green fee charges . j The Courses will have to be closed to the public for the entire day as a luncheon is also scheduled. On May 6, 1981 with Resolution #81-16642, the Commission approved the contract with the Professional Golfers Association of America to hold their Merchandise Show in the Convention Center on January 7th thru January 10, 1982. This is the first time the PGA has requested the use of our Golf Courses for their Merchandise Show exhibitors.
