A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ADOPTING
AETNA LIFE AND CASUALTY COMPANY' S SPLIT
FUNDED APPROACH FOR THE PAYMENT OF GROUP
HEALTH AND LIFE INSURANCE PREMIUMS;
AUTHORIZING THE CREATION BY THE CITY
MANAGER OF SUCH BANKING ACCOUNTS NECESSARY
TO FACILITATE SAME AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREFORE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, deems it in the best interest of it' s citizens,
employees and the City of Miami Beach to utilize Aetna Life and
Casualty Company split funded method for payment of group health
and life insurance premiums; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the City
utilize the split funded method and the City Attorney has
approved the concept;
WHEREAS, said split funded method requires the
creation of banking accounts established therefore;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor
be and is hereby authorized and directed on behalf of the City
of Miami Beach to direct the City Manager to utilize Aetna Life
and Casualty Company' s split funded method for payment of Group
Health and Life Insurance Premiums and further , that the City
Manager be and the same is hereby authorized to establish such
banking accounts as are necessary to accomplish said purpose
effective October 1 , 1981.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of September, 1981.
