A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH THE COMMISSION' S INTENTION
REGARDING THE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF
LAND AND THE CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING OF A CITY JUSTICE
CENTER REFERRED TO IN RESOLUTION NO. 81-16779
WHEREAS , the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach,
Florida, has adopted Resolution No. 81-16779 deeming it advisable
and in the best interests of the City to issue bonds for the
municipal purpose of acquiring land and building and furnishing a
Justice Center thereon; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has approved the holding of a
bond election to determine whether the City should issue general
obligation bonds aggregating not more than eighteen million
dollars ($18, 000, 000. 00) in amount for the purpose of acquiring
land and building said Justice Center ; and
WHEREAS , the City has determined that the sum of five
million dollars ($5,000, 000 . 00) will likely be required to
purchase said land and thirteen million dollars ($13, 000, 000. 00)
will likely be required to construct and furnish the Justice
Center building; and
WHEREAS , it may be feasible for the Justice Center to be
built on land already owned by the City, in which event no funds
would be required to acquire the land;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That it is the intention of the Commission that
not more than five million dollars ($5, 000, 000 . 00) be expended to
acquire the land and not more than thirteen million dollars
($13, 000, 000. 00) be expended to construct and furnish the Justice
Center building thereon.
Section 2. That , in the event the City Commission
determines the feasibility of constructing the Justice Center on
land already owned by the City, and that no funds for acquisition
of the land are required, it is the intention of the Commission
that no more than thirteen million dollars ($13,000, 000. 00 ) in
bonds be issued in order to construct and furnish the Justice
Center on such city-owned land .
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be effective
immediately upon its passage.

force and effect, without amendment, on the date hereof.
