2002-25056 Reso RESOLUTION NUMBER 2002-25056 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, WAIVING, BY 517THS VOTE, THE FORMAL BID PROCESS, FINDING SUCH WAIVER TO BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY, AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO ISSUE A STANDING ORDER TO BELLSOUTH TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $63,338.00 PER MONTH, UNDER A MONTH-TO-MONTH BILLING ARRANGEMENT, DURING FY2002-2003, TO PROVIDE THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH WITH CITY-WIDE LOCAL TELEPHONE SERVICES UNTIL SUCH TIME THAT THE CITY AWARDS A CONTRACT AS A RESULT OF A COMPETITIVE BIDDING PROCESS. BID AMOUNT AND FUNDING $63,338.00/month Funding is available from the Internal Service Fund for Information Technology (Budget Account 550,1750.000316, FY2002-2003). ANALYSIS Currently, BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc., provides local telephone services to all City Departments via the following BellSouth Telecommunications services: Custom Calling Features, Directory White Pages, Flat Rate Business Lines, Direct Dial Lines (DID), ESSX and Multiserve Lines for outlying City Departments, FX Service, Measure Rate Business Service, Megalink Channel Service, Primary Rate ISDN, and Flat Rate PBX trunks, These local telephone services which are provided by BellSouth Telecommunications,lnc" are under a month-to-month billing. They are operational at all City facilities and these BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. services are satisfactory, The current billing is on a month-to-month basis, therefore, the City does not benefit from discounts.
