LEADERSHIP RETREAT FOR MANAGEMENT TEAM

The purpose of this LTC is to advise the Mayor and Commission that I will be conducting
my annual leadership retreat for members of my management team on Monday, November
18 -Tuesday, November 19, 2002. As in the past, this retreat will include the Assistant
City Managers, the Chief Financial Officer, the Police and Fire Chiefs and all Department
Directors. Please note that the retreat is an all day event both days and will be held at the
Fairfield Inn & Suites here on Miami Beach and that we will not be in City Hall.
In addition to leadership development for staff, our agenda includes a discussion of our
accomplishments from the past year and a process to identify and develop our goals and
priorities for the coming year. I am looking forward to this opportunity to strategize with my
management team. Subsequently, I will communicate the results of our work to each of
you through my proposed program of work for the next fiscal year.
