RESOLUTION NO. 82-16888
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CLEMSON TIGERS
ON THEIR VICTORY IN THE 1982 ORANGE BOWL
GAME
WHEREAS , the Clemson Tigers , in the highest and finest
tradition of athletic competition, have through dedication
and determination achieved the supreme position of Number One
College football team in the nation, and
WHEREAS, through their superlative performance on the
gridiron, focused the spotlight of their fame on the greater
Miami area including the City of Miami Beach, and
WHEREAS, the presence of the Clemson Tigers promotes the
desirable image it is the purpose of our community to maintain
as a home of champions and sportsmanship at its best , and
WHEREAS, we are delighted to have had the Clemson Tigers
with us ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this expression of
appreciation to the Clemson Tigers on behalf of the Mayor and
City Commission, City Manager Harold T. Toal , the Administration
of the City of Miami Beach, and its greatful and appreciative
citizens , be wholeheartedly extended.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of January, 1982 .
