RESOLUTION NO. 82-16931
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, RESOLVING THAT LINCOLN
ROAD BE RENAMED "AMERICAN MIZRACHI WOMEN BOULE-
VARD" FROM MARCH 11 THROUGH MARCH 14 , 1982 , IN
HONOR OF THE SELFLESS SERVICE RENDERED BY THE
AMERICAN MIZRACHI WOMEN TO THE PEOPLE OF THE
STATE OF ISRAEL.
WHEREAS, the State of Israel is of great strategic
and cultural importance to the interests of the United States;
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach is united in their support of the people of the State
of Israel; and
WHEREAS, the American Mizrachi Women has provided
humanitarian and educational assistance to 12 ,000 disadvantaged
students; and
WHEREAS, the Jewish National Fund has conferred upon
American Mizrachi Women the "MACCABEAN AWARD" in recognition of
their assistance in establishing kibbutzim in Israel; and
WHEREAS, by her selfless dedication to humanitarianism,
the American Mizrachi Women have conferred upon Mrs. Pearl Schwartz
the "DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVEMENT AWARD" ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COM-
MISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Lincoln Road
be renamed "American Mizrachi Women Boulevard from March 11 through
March 14 , 1982, to honor the selfless service rendered by Mrs. Pearl
Schwartz and the American Mizrachi Women to the people of the
State of Israel.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of February, 1982 .
