A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MULTI-UNIT
RESIDENTIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM
POLICY HANDBOOK BY REDEFINING THE
DEFINITION OF "LOCAL LENDING
INSTITUTION"
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has included in its
Community Development Block Grant Program application, a
program designed to assist in the rehabilitation of privately
owned multi-unit residential properties; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami
Beach adopted the Policy Handbook for the program on March
18, 1981 by Resolution Number 81-16603; and
WHEREAS, in Chapter II on page 3 of the Handbook the
definition of a "Local Lending Institution" is provided; and
WHEREAS, in order to insure a greater level of
participation in the rehabilitation program by private lending
institutions a change in the definition of Local Lending
Institution is recommended; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it to be in the
i best interests for the health and safety of the citizens of
Miami Beach that the amendment be adopted;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the
definition of Local Lending Institution be amended to read:
"A recognized lending institution with one or more offices
within the legal boundaries of the municipality of the City
of Miami Beach. "
