A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR OF THE
STATE OF FLORIDA TO CONSIDER THE ISSUE OF
MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE AT
THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE LEGISLATURE WHICH
MAY BE CALLED IN JUNE, 1982.
WHEREAS, there is a health care crisis regarding the availability of
health care to the public at-large in our community due to the unaffordability
of medical professional liability insurance; and
WHEREAS, physicians should not be put in a position of practicing without
affordable professional liability insurance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Honorable Bob Graham, Governor of the State of
Florida, be requested to cause this subject to be considered at any special
session of the Legislature of the State of Florida which is to be called in
June, 1982, and directing that a copy of this resolution be sent to the
Governor.
