Resolution 82-17059 RESOLUTION NO. 82-17059
AN INDIVIDUAL RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
SUPPORTING THE POLICY OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL IN
RESTORING SELF-GOVERNMENT FOR LEBANON AND CON-
DEMNING TERRORIST ACTIVITIES.
WHEREAS , the democratic and free State of Israel was
established with the full sanction of the United Nations as the
only Jewish nation in the world; and
WHEREAS , the United States of America, the Arab Republic
of Egypt and the State of Israel initiated the Camp David accords
' resulting in the historic peace treaty between Egypt and Israel;
and
WHEREAS , the United States of America has joined other
free countries in calling for the restoration of self-government
for Lebanon and the removal of all foreign armed forces from
Lebanon; and
WHEREAS , the United States of America is unalterably
opposed to terrorism in any form and in particular to the inter-
national terrorism of the so-called Palestine Liberation
Organization;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the members of the City of
Miami Beach Commission individually express their condemnation of
all terrorist activities and all organizations committed to these
acts. They support all efforts to terminate these terrorist
activities and to restore peace in the Middle East.
