A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING THE CLOSING OF BAYSHORE
AND NORMANDY SHORES GOLF COURSES ON JANUARY 13, 1983
FOR THE USE OF THE PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS ASSOCIATION OF
AMERICA FOR THEIR GOLF TOURNAMENT.
WHEREAS, for the reasons more particularly set forth in
Commission Memorandum No. 522-82 , the City Commission of the
City of Miami Beach finds it in the best interest of the City to
close Bayshore and Normandy Shores Golf Courses on January 13, 1983
for the purpose of the golf tournament being held by the Professional
Golfers Association of America.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends closing the golf courses
on January 13, 1983 and the City Attorney has approved same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Normandy Shores and Bayshore
Golf Courses will be closed to the public on January 13, 1983.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of August , 1982.

SUBJECT: CLOSING OF 64-SHORE AND NORMANDY SHORES GOLF COURSES ON JANUARY 13, 1983
Attached is a letter from the Professional Golfers Association of
America requesting the privilege of using Bayshore and Normandy
Shores Golf Courses for the Professional Golfers Association
Merchandise Show exhibitors on Thursday, January 13, 1983.
A Shotgun Tournament is planned and the Professional Golfers
Association will pay the green fee charges.
The courses will have to be closed to the public for the entire
day as a luncheon is also scheduled. On May 6, 1981 with
Resolution #81-16642, the Commission approved the contract with
the Professional Golfers Association of America to hold their
Merchandise Show in the Convention Center in January, 1982. On
April 21, 1982, Resolution #82-16979 was approved for the
January 14 - January 17, 1983 dates.
The closing of Bayshore and Normandy Shores Golf Courses was
approved for the January, 1982 date.
