A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH AND THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AND COMMUNITY AFFAIRS
EXTENDING THE DEADLINE FOR COMPLETION OF
SERVICES REQUIRED BY A LOCAL GOVERNMENT
COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
GRANT
WHEREAS, on September 16, 1981, the City Commission via Resolution No.
81-16771 authorized the City Manager to prepare an application requesting financial
assistance under the State of Florida's Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act
Assistance Fund Program; and
WHEREAS, on October 26, 1981, the City was officially notified that its
application for financial assistance under the Local Government Comprehensive Planning
Act Assistance Fund Program was selected to receive a maximum grant award of $20,000;
and
WHEREAS, on January 20, 1982, a contract was signed between the City of
Miami Beach and the State of Florida Department of Veteran and Community Affairs
awarding the City $20,000 for the completion of specific professional and technical
services; and
WHEREAS, said contract requires that all services be completed no later than
September 30, 1982 and the City has determined that it will be unable to complete the
required services by that date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and the City Clerk be and they are
hereby authorized to execute an amendment to said agreement for and on behalf of the
City of Miami Beach extending the deadline for completion of services required by said
agreement from September 30, 1982 to December 1, 1982.
