A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL REHABIL-
ITATION PROGRAM POLICY HANDBOOK BY CHANGING ONE MEMBER
IDENTIFIED AS THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TO THE
DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND CHANGING REFERENCE TO THE
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO THE CITY' S PLANNING
DEPARTMENT; DELETING REFERENCE TO THE ECONOMIC DEVEL-
OPMENT DEPARTMENT WITHIN CHAPTER II OF THE HANDBOOK AND
REDEFINING CODE ENFORCEMENT AS A DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach has included in its Com-
munity Development Block Grant Program application, a program
designed to assist in the rehabilitation of privately owned
multi-unit residential properties ; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
adopted the revised Policy Handbook for the program on November
18, 1981 by Resolution Number 81-16828; and
WHEREAS, in Chapter XII on page 22 of the handbook the
composition of a Loan Review Committee for the program is
described; one member of the committee being identified as the
Economic Development Director or a designated representative of
the Economic Development; and
WHEREAS, on March 17, 1982 , a City departmental reorganiza-
tion as adopted by Commission Memorandum Number 154-82, took place
which created a vacancy on the Loan Review Committee for the
position of Economic Development Director; and
WHEREAS, in order to permit the continuation of a knowledgeable
committee with experience in the program an amendment to the hand-
book is needed to eliminate the reference to the Economic Depart-
ment Director and the Economic Development Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that Chapter XII , Section 2 (b)
of the Policy Handbook for the Multi-Unit Residential Rehabilitation
Program, revised November, 1981 , be amended to read "City of Miami
Beach Director of Planning or a designated representative of the
City' s Planning Department."
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that Chapter II , Definitions on page 3 of the Policy
Handbook, Section 2 (b) and 2 (c) are hereby changed to delete the
words "Economic Development Department." Code Enforcement is re-
defined as a department of the City of Miami Beach in lieu of a div-
sion of the Economic Development Department.
