RESOLUTION NO. 44 3
WHEREAS, THE SUNSET ISLANDS COMPANY, a Florida corporation,
has presented for approval by the City Council its "3rd Revised Plat,
Sunset Islands", and
WHEREAS, It appears from said "3rd Revised Plat, Sunset
Islands" that those portions of Sunset Drive on Islands Numbers 2 and
3 lying north of the north line of West 24th Street produced across
Sunset Drive and lying south of the south line of West 25th Street pro-
duced across Sunset Drive are intended to be and have been discontinued
and vacated as public streets, and
WHEREAS, The bridge heretofore existing between Islands
Numbers 2 and 3 has been removed and bridges at other points supplied
in lieu thereof, making it unnecessary for the above described portions
of Sunset Drive to remain open as public thoroughfares, and
WHEREAS, Said "3rd Revised Plat, Sunset Islands" shows that
the area on Island Number 2, marked "Park" on former plats of said area,
has been discontinued as a park and that it is intended that the same
shall revert and return to private use, and
WHEREAS, It appears that said area heretofore marked "Park"
and dedicated as such on previous plats of Sunset Islands is of insuffi-

tient area and of improper shape/to be of use and benefit to the public
as a park, and
WHEREAS, The City of Miami Beach is unwilling to maintain said
area as a public park, and
WHEREAS, Said "3rd Revised Plat, Sunset Islands" has been care-
fully
are-fully examined by the City Engineer of the City of Miami Beach and ap-
pears to be proper and accurate in every respect, and
WHEREAS, Said Plat has attached thereto a proper and sufficient
dedication of streets, drives, avenues, and rights-of-way for storm
sewers and drains,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That said "3rd Revised Plat,
Sunset Islands" as presented be approved in every respect, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That any and all prior dedications
of streets, avenues, drives, parks or other areas on or by previous
plats, which are not continued as such on said "3rd Revised Plat,
Sunset Islands", be and the same are hereby vacated and discontinued
as such, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the park and portions of Sunset
Drive hereinabove described be and they are hereby specifically vacated
I and discontinued as a park and as public thoroughfares, respectively.
