Resolution 4164 RESOLUTION NO. 4.164
WHEREAS, the Rod and Reel Club, Inc. , proposes to con-
struct a timber wharf or dock 100 feet long and extending into
Biscayne Bay a distance of 10 feet , and fronting on their prop-
erty, Lots 29 and 30 in Block 3 of Hibiscus Island, in Miami
Beach,Florida, pursuant to application nawon file with the
United States Engineers Office of the War Department , and
WHEREAS, this City Council has considered this proposed
construction and is of the opinion that a wharf or dock of
these dimensions is an unreasonable obstruction to navigation
and not in the interest of the public good as the docking of a
number of boats and fishing craft of various types at this loca-
tion will cause congestion and be a menace to surrounding proper-
ty owners ,and
WHEREAS, this construction will constitute a violation
of their agreement with this City Council at the time they were
permitted to establish their club on this site, wherein they
promised not to construct boat slips and docks,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Miami Beach, Florida, in legal meeting assembled, that
the said City Council does hereby strenuously object to said
proposed construction for the reasons above stated, and urges
the United States Engineers Office of the War Department to
deny the permit for said project.
