He saw the American Riviera, a place where people from ;t around the world could bask in the tropical sunshine , _ and experience the finest hospitality and service. This was a sleeping giant, a place of true historic importance whose star had once shone so brightly. But the soul of Miami Beach was still there, and Goldman was just the man to revive this vibrant spirit. In 1987, Goldman opened the doors of his flagship property, The Park Central Hotel. The faithful restoration and renovation was widely praised, and it became the centerpiece of the South Beach renaissance. Custom-designed period furniture and black & white prints of Miami Beach in the '20s and '30s evoked a nostalgic atmosphere, a nod to the golden days of Miami. Comfort, a high level of service, a professional and friendly staff and a feeling of being in one's home were all key factors in the success of The Park Central. Also setting the scene was the hotel's four-star restaurant, "Lucky's", where the crowd gathered for great food and jazz music courtesy of their host, Tony Goldman. Just a block and a half away on Collins Avenue, Goldman Properties had another art deco gem waiting in the wings, and in 1998, he reopened The Hotel, formerly known as the Tiffany Hotel. Working with his daughter Jessica and innovative fashion designer Todd Oldham the interiors of this 1939 "gem at the ocean" took on a cozy mix of rich cool colors and artisan detailing that has brought rave reviews from design pundits worldwide, and along with its superior service has garnered numerous http://www.goldmanproperti es.com/hotels.htm 2/17/2005 Goldman Properties Page 2 of 2 awards including a AAA Four Diamond rating.
