SUBJECT: Motion by the Committee on the Homeless to Fund Lazarus Project
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to transmit the motion below approved by the
Committee on the Homeless at its April 10, 2018 meeting.
The following motion made by Ms. Lori Bakkum, seconded by Ms. Marcella Paz Cohen and
approved unanimously by the Committee on the Homeless:
The Committee on the Homeless encourages the Mayor and Commission to fund a one-year
pilot project implemented by Camillus House to serve 10 chronically homeless, mentally ill
homeless residents of the City of Miami Beach through its Project Lazarus Program at a cost of
$91,572.
The Committee on the Homeless is comprised of the following members:
