A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH TO ACCEPT DONATIONS FROM T-
MOBILE USA, INC., IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $4,000, FOR
THE 2018 MONTHLY FOOD TRUCK AND MUSIC FEST
EVENTS, AND FOR THE PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT'S SENIOR BINGO NIGHT TO BE HELD ON
APRIL 16, 2018; AND, FURTHER, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO MAKE SUCH
EXPENDITURES AND /OR REIMBURSEMENTS CONSISTENT
WITH THE AFORESTATED EVENTS AND PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, each year, the City of Miami Beach (the "City ") hosts a wide range of events
and programs throughout Miami Beach, in order to engage and educate the community, and to
provide opportunities for recreation and family enjoyment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach will be hosting the Food Truck & Music Fest located
on Ocean Terrace and 73 Street on the fourth Wednesday every month; and
WHEREAS, the Food Truck & Music Fest serves to bring the community together by
providing food options, sunset yoga, street acts, live music at the North Shore Bandshell; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting
Senior Bingo night at the Miami Beach Convention Center on April 16th from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.
The event will celebrate the community with an evening of food, fun, bingo, and prizes; and
WHEREAS, City staff has worked diligently to identify funding sources to off -set the costs
of producing these events, and has secured a partnership through donations from T- Mobile
USA, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the acceptance of donation from the
above - referenced sponsor, in the total amount of $4,000, to cover the costs of the 2018 Food
Truck and Music Fest and the 2018 Senior Bingo night; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends that the City Commission authorize the
City Manager, or his designee, to make any necessary reimbursements and /or expenditures of
the aforestated donations, in furtherance of, and consistent with, the aforestated events and
purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby authorize the City of Miami Beach to accept donations from T- Mobile USA,
Inc. in the total amount of $4,000, for the 2018 monthly Food Truck and Music Fest events, and
for the Parks and Recreation Department's Senior Bingo night to be held on April 16, 2018; and,
further, authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to make such expenditures and /or
reimbursements consistent with the aforestated events and purposes.

ANALYSIS
