2018 Tax Preparation Services
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to update the Mayor and Commission on the City's
free tax preparation services provided to our residents during the 2018 tax season.
The City's Office of Housing and Community Services has provided free tax preparation
services to our residents since 2012. Each year, the City has grown the number of people it has
been able to serve. This year, the City's growth rate 31.4 percent above last year's
performance. The City filed 259 returns, up from 197 at the end of last tax season. The growth
rate exceeded City expectations and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) targets of 10 percent year -
over -year growth.
