A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA TO WAIVE PARKING FEES FOR THE 2018
GAY PRIDE PARADE SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 6 TO APRIL 9, 2018.
WHEREAS, the Gay Business Enhancement Committee was created in 2008, with the
first initiative being the creation of the event known as Miami Beach Gay Pride; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Gay Pride, Inc. is a Florida not - for - profit corporation that
produces free, safe, quality mass - appeal events that are open to all, and that include the Gay
Pride Parade, Festival, Expo, and other adjunct, officially sanctioned Miami Beach Gay Pride
events; and
WHEREAS, Miami Beach Gay Pride has produced nine (9) successful years of events in
Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS, on March 7, 2018, the Mayor and City Commission approved the waiver of
parking fees, in the amount of $3.580.00, for the Miami Beach Gay Pride event, to be held on
April 6 through April 9, 2018.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, WAIVE THE PARKING FEES, IN
THE AMOUNT OF $3,580.00, FOR THE 2018 MIAMI BEACH GAY PRIDE EVENT TO BE
HELD ON APRIL 6 THROUGH APRIL 9, 2018.

Administration is seeking direction.
ANALYSIS
The event producer for Gay Pride Parade 2018, to take place on April 7-8, 2018, have asked for a waiver of parking fees.
CONCLUSION
The Administration is seeking direction from the Mayor and City Commission on this waiver request.
