Resolution 5110 RESOLUTION NO. 5110
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of this Body that
Thos. H. Horobin has made application to the War Department
for permission to relocate and bulkhead the existing canal in
the vicinity of 73rd Street, along the House of Refuge Coast
Guard property and along the City Park in Harding Townsite Sub-
division, and
WHEREAS , this relocation of the existing; canal as contem-
plated in said application will cause a serious bottleneck in
said canal, and at some locations along same will remove City
owned properties from the edge of said canal;
NOW , THEREFORE, Bi IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEAC.:, FLORIDA, that we do hereby seriously protest
the granting of permit to Thos. H. Horobin pursuant to his re-
quest now on file with the War Department until the said Thos . H.
Horobin has consulted with officials of the City of Miami Beach
and reached an amicable agreement as to a possible relocation of
this existing canal which will be mutually satisfactory to both
parties, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we do hereby petition the War
Department to refuse to grant this permit as now requested by
Thos . H. Horobin.
