CS {R i ' - R .1 Sent. 13, . @1925. , , Carl G. Fisher, . , Port dashington, .L. I. • y dear Lir. Fisher: j • Just returned from Miami Beach, where I found things very, busy and most prosperous looking from every viewpoint. ' • Had thought that I might have an- opportunity to take ' up a ,few matters with you in person. I had.-hoped ,to. discus's the :matter of rates, date of, opening, and the program'for .-the brthadcasting station. During my talks with uharles, I have learned that you • adv.t ed the raising of rates at the Flamingo. • I ' suppose this will apply ;to the Nautilus as well. Our former rates at the idautiliis have been 420 to 425 per day single and -p32 to j38 , per day double . Do you feel we could raise these, and if so , how •much? ' - Personally-1 think the :single rate is practically s right as it is. Had thought, however, of advancing our rate on doublet•rooms from j34 to 440 per day. Judging -from what I • y could learn while at Miami .Beach,- the rate- which we have :charged heretoforefor our bungalows is 'most ".reasonable - in fact below anything -that is to be compared with them. Our rates, as you will • reme riber, for bungalows was ; 3,000, for the bungalows with ' three bedrooms, j3500 for the four bedroom bungalows; and. 4001 I for.. the one bungalow which has •five bedrooms. Charles informs ., - me that he has advanced his '?'200 each. I 'most certainly,.be - - and should get at least •:•500 each more, for neve. that we could , our•'bungalows. . The only objection to .this is that quite .a num- ber 'of our, •people .who • occup'ied .bungalows last year madetent a ative reservations on''the basis of the old rate. • .1 J understand that the Flamingo'.will; open on or about De- y cethber 15th.' . -Such being the--:0.,§e, 1,:believe, it -will 'be', advisa- .- ble for 'us to, open. January 2nd.: Personally, _,.I feel that 'with s opr -bungalows •we ,should be , able to `carry;`.out, overhead almost • from 'the date of, open, ing, 'sh:ould •,ze .open on 'the -above -mentioned ' ' ,, F - As• yet nothing has been, done` concerning the gu:rniShings of the -'broadcas'ting'.,studio. . ,Mhile at Miami ,i eadh, ;I 'met Mr. onit-. - 1 gomery, aid -asked`him'if,he'would_look 'over the studio, (take `such f . , • i . n. - s
