MIAMI BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT HOLIDAY TOY GIVE-AWAY

This Letter to the Commission is to invite the Mayor and Commission to participate in the
Miami Beach Police Department's annual Holiday Toy Give-Away for disadvantaged
children in our community. This event will take place on Monday, December 23, 2002 at
9:00 a.m. in the Miami Beach Police Station, Community Room.
The Miami Beach Police Department has been involved in the Holiday Toy Give-Away for
the last approximately twenty (20) years. During this time period, it has grown significantly
with this year's event benefiting approximately 720 children. This is possible through the
dedicated efforts of this year's Chairman, Captain John Tighe, generous donations from
community sponsors such as David Wallach and Karen Fryd, and the hard work of
volunteers from within the Miami Beach Police Department.
