Resolution 5272 RESOLUTION NO. 5272 A RESOLUTION OF HIS COLLEAGUES, UPON THE RETIREMENT OF COUNCILMAN HARRY M. HICE, FROM THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the Honorable Harry Y. Hice, was first elected a member of this Body in 1924; was re-elected in 1926 and in 1928 for successive two year terms; was returned by our citizens in 1930 for a four year term, and was enthusiastically re-elected to three additional successive terms in 1934, in 1937 and in 1939, and WHEREAS, this term of service which Mr. Hice is today terminating by his own chice, has seen one of the most vigorous, outstanding and phenominal examples of City growth and development in the annals of our nation, demanding of its City Fathers, unusual devotion, long hours of service, and sacrifice of time above personal welfare, and WHEREAS, throughout these nearly eighteen years of continuous service our esteemed colleague has always given unstintingly of his time and energy in faithful attendance at City Council sessions, and in the performance of his many and varied assignments on projects for the upbuilding of our community; and by reason of his wide experience in architecture, planning and building, has given outstand- ing assistance to his associates in planning and construction problems, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that we do hereby attempt to express to him, in this our humble way, our appreciation, also that of our citizenry, of the invaluable and unselfish service rendered by our colleague, Harry M. Hice, over so long a period, for and in behalf of the welfare and upbuilding of our City, and we further express herewith our deep and sincere regret at the termination of so pleasant an association.
