SUBJECT: Motion by the LGBTQ Advisory Committee
The purpose of this Letter to Commission (LTC) is to inform the Mayor and the Commission of a
motion made by the LGBTQ Advisory Committee at their meeting on May 8, 2018.
BACKGROUND: Commissioner Gongora was present for the meeting and suggested a possible
proposal from the Committee for City funded organizations to require boards and committees to
complete a training program.
MOTION: Request the City to consider developing a non-profit board of directors training program
to be required for all non-profit organizations doing business in the City and that are receiving
funding from the City. Also, to offer the training on an elective basis to any non-profit organization.
