Resolution 5339 RESOLUTION NO.5339 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, MAKING A TAX LEVY FOR THE TAX YEAR 1941, AND FIX- ING THE MILLAGE ON REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION 1. That there be, and the same is hereby levied, a tax for the year, A. D. , 1941, on all real and personal property located within the corporate limits of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, as follows : (A) For the purpose of carrying on the Government or Administration and finance Department of said City and to provide funds for the support and maintenance of the different City Departments, as follows : Fire; Police; Beach Patrol; Engineering; Streets and Bridges; Sewer; Parks & Docks; Water; Building Inspection; Maintenance Public Buildings; Health & Welfare; Waste Collection and Disposal; Recreation; Library and Art Center; Golf Course (Washington Avenue) and Golf Course (Normandy Isle) ; Lighting City; Telephone Exchange; and Miscellaneous; and a reserve for tax dis- counts and abatements and for uncollected taxes; Nineteen and eight- tenths (19.8) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all of said property in said City, with the exception of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, pursuant to the provisions of an Act known as "Senate Bill #123", adopted by the State Legislature in 1935, and as later amended. (B) For Publicity and Advertising purposes, and a reserve for tax discounts and abatements, Two Mills (2) on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all of said property in said City with the ex- ception of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, as explained above, One (1) M .11 of which was authorized by a majority vote of freeholders at an election held for this purpose on June 4th, 1940. (C ) For the purpose of paying principal and interest due on all out- standing bonds of said City that were issued prior to the passage of the Homestead Exemption Act, with the exception of certain bonds being refunded by Resolution No.r337, passed and adopted August 8th, 1941, and for a reserve for tax discounts and abatements and for uncollected taxes Two and Eight-tenths (2.5) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all property in said City. (D) For the purpose of paying principal and interest due on all out- standing bonds of said City that were issued since the passage of the Homestead Exemption Act, and for a reserve for tax discounts and abatements and for uncollected taxes, Two and Four-tenths ( 2.4) Mills on the dollar of the taxable cash value of all of said property in said City with the exception of such properties as have been allowed a Homestead Exemption, as explained above.
