Resolution 5340 RESOLUTION NO. 5340
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, that we do hereby authorize City Manager Ren-
shaw to negotiate for the issuance of revenue bonds, up to
the extent of $500,000.00, at a rate of interest not to exceed
3 3/4% per annum, callable prior to maturity at not over 105;
•that said bonds be executed for the purpose of acquiring, or
erecting, and equipping a new hospital building to be built
for that purpose, containing not less than seventy-five patient
rooms , and not less than one hundred beds, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we hereby authorize City
,Manager Renshaw to employ a local architect, and also a consult-
ing architect, to prepare plans and consult with the Citizens
Hospital Committee on the purchase of a site for the purpose
of erecting, or acquiring, such a b uildin€, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the issuance of these bonds
a provision be incorporated for the appointment of a Board of
Trustees of the Municipal Hospital, to consist of not less than
seven and not more than eleven laymen, the first such Board to
be appointed by the City Council, and thereafter said Board to
perpetuate itself by its own elections, so that the City Council
will have no control over the operation of the hospital, and
that the City Council only have the authority to control the
budget recommended by the said Board of Trustees annually.
