A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ANGLERS, INC . ,
AS THE OFFICIAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH IN CONDUCTING THE ANNUAL
FISHING TOURNAMENT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, AND PROVIDING FUNDS FOR THE CON-
DUCT OF TOURNAMENT FOR THE WINTER SEASON
OF 1941-1942,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That Anglers, Inc. , a non-profit corporation,
organized under the laws of the State of Florida,
containing among its members representative citizens of Miami
Beach and the Metropolitan Miami area, be and it is hereby desig-
nated as the official agency of the City of Miami Beach for the
management, promotion and control of the sixth annual Metro-
politan Miami Fishing Tournament operated by the City of Miami
Beach in conjunction with the other municipalities of the Metro-
politan Miami area, for the promotion of publicity for this area,
and as an attraction and entertainment to tourists and winter
visitors of the City of Miami Beach.
SECTION 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Miami Beach,
having heretofore provided in its Publicity Budget the
sum of 4000.00, as a contribution to the fund necessary to pro-
mote said fishing tournament for the year 1941-42, doeshereby
appropriate said sum for such purpose from sources heretofore
provided, and the payment thereof shall be made by Claude A. Ren-
shaw as City Manager, and he is directed and instructed to pay
said fund to the said Anglers, Inc. , in two installments, $3000.00
for the winter tournament, and 51000.00 for the 1942 summer
tournament , and under such terms and conditions as he shall deem.
to be proper to insure the proper expenditure thereof.
