SUBJECT: Evaluation Committee Relative to Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 2018 -024 -WG, for
Collection and Disposal of Residential Solid Waste, Yard Debris and Bulk Waste and Operation of
The City's Green Waste Facility.
The purpose of this LTC is to update the Mayor and City Commission on the status of Request for
Proposals (RFP) No. 2018 -024 -WG, which seeks to establish an agreement with a qualified firm(s)
for collection and disposal of residential solid waste, yard debris and bulk waste and operation of the
City's green waste facility.
On April 19, 2018, LTC# 215-2018 notified the City Commission that the City Manager had
appointed an evaluation committee to review proposals received pursuant to the RFP. However, it
is necessary to make changes to the Evaluation Committee to add a representative with an
environmental and sustainability perspective.
I am now considering appointing the following individuals to serve on the Evaluation Committee:
• Jorge Cano, Director, Fleet Management Department, City of Miami Beach
• Jose Del Risco, Assistant Director, Parks and Recreation Department, City of Miami Beach
• Jonathan Fryd, Resident
• Rodney Knowles, Director, Greenspace Division, Public Works Department, City of Miami
Beach
• George Ruiz, Sanitation Superintendent, Sanitation Division, Public Works Department, City
of Miami Beach
• Elizabeth Wheaton, Director, Environment and Sustainabilitv Department, City of Miami
Beach
I am also considering the following individuals as alternates:
• Alberto Zamora, Director, Sanitation Division, Public Works, City of Miami Beach
• Ramon Suarez, Human Resources Administrator, Human Resources Department, City of
Miami Beach
