Resolution 5585 RESOLUTION NO. 5585 WHEREAS, it is now foreseen that, by reason of economic conditions brought about by the war, the amount of uncollected and delinquent City taxes will increase from year to year; and WHEREAS, a great decrease in collections in any one year would necessitate an increased millage for the ensuing year, which would create an additional burden upon the taxpayers and provide an additional reason for non-payment of taxes; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the best interest of the City demands immediate steps to avert such a situation; and WHEREAS, in the budget for the current fiscal year and in the budget for the fiscal year ending October 31st, 1943, certain reserves have been set up for anticipated uncollected taxes; and WHEREAS, the reserves so set aside for the current year were in excess of the actual uncollected taxes for the year 1941, thus leaving unused balances of the said reserves, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Miami Beach, that a special fund be created into which there shall be put the following: (a) All of the unused reserves set aside for "uncollected taxes" in the budget for the current fiscal year.
