said City to secure the passa< e, at the 1943 session o f the State
Legislature, of a bill entitled,
"AN ACT AUTHORIZING ThE CITY COUNCIL
OF ThE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA,
TO ESTABLISH BY ORDINANCE A HOSPITAL-
IZATION AND SICK BENEFIT SYSTEM FOR
ANY OR ALL GROUPS OF OFFICERS AND
EMPLOYEES IN THE SERVICE OF SAID CITY:

County, and that they each be respectfully requested to see that
a bill, substantially in accordance with said copy be introduced
and passed at said session.

SBCTIos i. The City Council of the City of ]lased beach, Florida,
shall hams authority to oaatsbliah by ordinance a hos-
pitalization and sick benefit system for any or all Croups of om-
cees and employees in the service of said City. Any ouch hos-A.ta<l
isation and sick benefit systema shall be established on a jc inte.y
contributory basis with the otfioers and omployess bearing flee-rvelf
and the City one-half of tho cost. The eoait of the systom shall be
determined actuarially in such manner as the Countii shall approve.
Any officer or employee of the City, •+ 0W1 zr employed at the
time of the •stat<lishment of such system or t a,,ai ter a ployed,
shallave, far a reasonable time + o be fixed ordinance, the privt-

its bonsfits, provided, hoosier, that when an officer or omployeo shall

under this Act stall be administered by the i;tenticol
board appointed under tree provisions of Chapter 18691, Laws of pee rlda,
Acts of 1957, to administer any pension, annuity and retirement system
now in cat'stanoo or hereafter erected as sutheriaedd by said Cbairter.
